LIQUID LIGHT PAINTING BY MARK LANDKAMER

This is fall. The honey locust trees are dropping seed pods onto the ground in great numbers in our part of Santa Fe. There is a wonderful color interplay of deep maroon, warm browns, and sunny golds. I just had to bring one pod into the house and start developing a painting immediately. I love looking at my natural surroundings and responding to it in this way. Normally, with this series, I do not start with an object to abstract from, but that is what happened here and I like it.
