I thought of the various species of blue jays in California and New Mexico after finishing this piece. Particularly the threatened Pinyon Jays here in New Mexico. The range of blues in the feathers of these birds as they move in the bright sunlight can stop me dead in my tracks. I must stop, observe, and enjoy. Blue jays are a wonder.
