Dense California Redwood forest. I am at the floor of the forest looking up to the skies in the late afternoon golden light before the fog rolls in. Appreciating the old mythic trees, the foliage, and the mysteries of the forest, yet moving beyond into a positive open space. I can almost smell the redwoods and experience the time of day. There is hope moving up and out of the depths. That’s what this painting feels like to me.
